Light Therapy

Light Therapy
A Gentle, Non-Invasive Way to Support Your Brain Health and Wellness
What if the path to better focus, sleep, and mental clarity started with light?
At New Concepts II, we’re always looking for innovative, evidence-informed tools to complement our patients’ care. That’s why we’re proud to offer transcranial light therapy using the Neuronic LIGHT device — a cutting-edge near-infrared light therapy technology backed by thousands of research studies and designed to support brain health and overall wellness.
What Is Light Therapy?
Light therapy — specifically photobiomodulation (PBM) — is a non-invasive approach that uses low-level near-infrared light wavelengths to stimulate the brain’s cells at a biological level.
Here’s the science in plain terms: your cells contain mitochondria — often called the “powerhouses” of the cell — which produce a molecule called adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the energy your body and brain rely on to function. Photobiomodulation works by triggering photochemical changes within the mitochondria using red and near-infrared light, which supports ATP production and increases blood flow to the brain — allowing better delivery of nutrients and removal of waste products.
Think of it as a way to gently recharge your brain from the outside in.
The Neuronic LIGHT Device
The Neuronic LIGHT is a helmet-like device that emits energy in the near-infrared spectrum, designed for use on the head to promote energy and relaxation. It’s non-invasive, painless, and sessions are simple and comfortable.
The technology has been explored in more than 10,000 studies, and Neuronic collaborates with leading research institutions worldwide — including advisors from Harvard Medical School — to advance the science behind photobiomodulation.
What Can Light Therapy Support?
Research into photobiomodulation is active and growing. Many patients use light therapy as a complementary wellness tool to support:
Mental clarity and focus
Memory and cognitive performance
Sleep quality
Mood and emotional wellness
Fatigue and brain fog
Overall brain health and resilience
Clinical research has explored PBM across a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, autism, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and long COVID.
Please note: Light therapy at New Concepts II is offered as a general wellness service. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. We encourage all patients to discuss whether light therapy is appropriate for their individual situation with their care provider.
